Professor Shirin Rai launches the NEW network, a collaboration of the Universities of Nottingham-Edinburgh-Warwick working on South Asia, at the Edinburgh Book Festival on the 14th of August. In this event she will be in conversation with novelist and writer Nadeem Aslam. The event will be chaired by Dr Kanchana Ruwanpura from the University of Edinburgh.
The 14th of August marks 70 years of Pakistani independence, and the 15th August marks 70 years of Indian independence.
